Age verification for dating apps — EUDI-ready, privacy-first
Dating apps match adults with strangers, so a self-tick birth date isn't enough. eIDAS Pro is built for the EU Digital Identity Wallet arriving across the EU from December 2026, with bank eID (iDIN) already returning live boolean 18+ answers for Dutch users today — and Belgium and the rest of Benelux next. Dating apps carry a heavier duty of care than a typical e-commerce checkout: a failed age check doesn't just risk a chargeback, it can put a minor in a room with an adult. A self-declared birth date field is trivial to fake and offers no real assurance, while a full document-upload flow adds friction that kills onboarding on a swipe-first product. Regulators and platforms are moving toward requiring a real, verifiable age signal — not a checkbox — and most dating apps don't have one yet.
A boolean 18+ answer that respects a swipe-first signup
eIDAS Pro asks a single question — is this user over 18? — and gets back a boolean, never a date of birth or an ID document. iDIN, the Dutch bank eID scheme, already answers that question live today for users with a Netherlands bank account. We're building toward Benelux-wide coverage next — Belgium's itsme is in onboarding — and the same architecture is built to plug into the EU Digital Identity Wallet as it rolls out across the EU from December 2026, so coverage grows without changing your integration.
eID available today — iDIN (Dutch bank eID) returns a live boolean 18+ answer for users in the Netherlands now, with no date of birth shared; Belgium's itsme is next as we build out Benelux coverage
EUDI Wallet-ready — the same integration is built for the EU Digital Identity Wallet's age attestation, expected across the EU from December 2026
No date of birth, ever — every layer, current and planned, returns a yes/no verdict, never a birth date or a document photo
Fail-closed by design — a user who can't complete a permitted verification layer is refused, never silently waved through
How early access works
Join the waitlist
Tell us about your app and where your users are based using the form below. There's no self-serve signup yet — we're onboarding dating apps directly as early-access partners.
We help you wire it up
We work with you to connect iDIN for your Netherlands users first, since that's the coverage that's live end-to-end today, then bring on Belgium via itsme (currently onboarding) as we build toward Benelux-wide coverage, and scope full EU coverage for the rest of your user base.
Go live, then grow with the EUDI Wallet
Launch boolean 18+ checks for your Netherlands users now, join the queue for Belgium as itsme comes online, and get priority access to EU Digital Identity Wallet coverage as it ships from December 2026 — without re-integrating.
Built to be checked, not just trusted
eIDAS Pro is built on @openeudi, our Apache-2.0 open-source SDK — you can read the verification logic yourself instead of taking a vendor's word for it. No identity document or date of birth behind an eID or wallet check ever touches our servers; you only ever receive a signed 18+ verdict.
